I took this photo in 2018 in Chiloé, from the terrace of my house. In the photo you can see the beautiful landscape, the trees, the sea, the Chiloé islands in the background, but the most beautiful thing, the sunset that curved the entire sky. I really like the photo for two main reasons. First, because of what that place means to me, it is the house of my childhood, the place where I go every summer, the place that brings us together as a family and where I enjoy nature the most. Second, I really like sunsets and this was one of the most beautiful I've seen, so I decided to take a picture of it. It is said that Chiloé is magical, and the sunsets that I have been able to see from that terrace make me believe that it is.  

My favorite gadget is my cell phone. I got it a couple of years ago, but since that, it has become my favorite and the one I use the most. I use it every day, to talk with my friends and family, to use my social medias, to take photos and to listen to music. I like it because it is a device that I can take everywhere, it is very small but I can do many things with it. I believe that my life without my phone, especially in a pandemic, would be lonelier and boring, because it is the medium through which I communicate daily with my loved ones. But on the other hand, I recognize that not having a cell phone would also have positive things, such as being more productive during the day. Sometimes I can spend hours wasting time on the phone instead doing other things.

Since I was a child I imagine myself studying and working on different things. My only dream job was the one that allowed me to meet people, places, cultures and different realities. I was never completely decided on which career to choose. I had several options, one of them was Renewable Natural Resources Engineering. Finally I realized that Sociology gave me more tools to know reality, as I wanted, but also to make changes in it. My experience at the university has been very different from what I expected, but it has not been bad at all. I really liked the subjects and teachers but it has been very difficult to get through college without socializing in person with my classmates and friends. In the future, I would like to have a job that  constantly challenge me,  that allows me to travel and to continue learning day by day.

Hi! My name is Sara, I am part of a family of six, my parents, three siblings and myself. We also have a dog and a cat. We have lived in Santiago for approximately 9 years, before that we had a quite nomadic life, where we lived outside of Chile for several years because of my parents work. I am a sociology student at the University of Chile. It is my second year and it has been very crazy because of the pandemic, I do not know my friends and colleagues in person! In addition, I am scout and part of a project called "Protagonistas sin Frontera", where we accompany and teach migrant boys and girls. My favorite hobby is backpacking. It is something that I miss now in quarantine. Also I like to plan new trips and take photos, here are some of my favorites in beautiful places:
